Car Rental Terms and Conditions to Rent a Car in Uganda
To rent a vehicle, client should be in age brackets of 23 and 75 years of age and a holder of a valid international driver’s permit for the past 2 years and with no endorsements.
Your copy of valid passport, driving license, full contact details and advance payments of 50% of the actual total amount so that we confirm your booking and get your vehicle reserved for the specified period of time. Balance can be cleared on the service commencement. For certain special circumstances, additional cash deposits are required.
Driving License/Permit and Age Recommended
Drivers must provide a valid international or national driver’s license possessed at least for 2 years of age.
Minimum 23 years of age for groups economy. Minimum 25 years of age, 3 years of driver’s license for groups standard and higher. 28 years of age and above, for luxury. For those over 75 years of age, kindly inform us, we may apply restrictions in certain circumstances.
Minimum Car Rental Period
Our minimum rental is 24 hrs. For rental periods less than 24 hrs require a whole day rental charges, else we offer Airport pickups at a different cost.
What Comes with Car Hire Costs
Costs include: A driver, maintenance/service, road assistance, unlimited mileages. Special rates and terms maybe offered to long term rentals, minimum 30 days .
Rates exclude: Gasoline, client’s personal insurance (PAI), added extras like additional driver, infant or child seat, special equipment and optional insurance. Parking and highway fees if any.
Additional driver’s
Hired cars maybe driven by a maximum of 2 additional drivers apart from the main one. Charges are often applied on additional drivers and maybe cleared at the time of reservations.
They should meet all the license and age requirements as the rental agreement states, and also should be registered in the agreement. Insurance is void if any accident occurs while a non registered driver is driving the rental car.
For Children
Up on request at the time of reservation, infant /booster/child seats are available but at an additional cost of up to $10 per day depending on the number of rental days.
Car Rental Terms on Flight Details (for clients to be picked at the airport)
It is client’s responsibility to provide us with correct flight number and arrival time before departure. Please ensure to inform us at least 7 days prior to departure about your departure and arrival time if you didn’t give them to us during the booking time.
If you don’t provide us your information on time, no responsibility will be accepted or compensated for failed rental. This is to allow staff to be well prepared and ready to receive you on your arrival.
Pickup and Drop-off
It is free delivery and collection in cities where our car rental offices are during the office working hours. If you need to drop off or pick up from hotel (accommodation address) out of office hours or city limits, a fee of $10 per kilometer to the nearest office maybe applied on you.
Rental Car Return Policy
Delayed return: For every an hour a rental vehicle is delayed, your charged 1/3 of the daily rate, and if it’s more than 3 hrs delayed, it is counted as an extra day.
Early return: There are no refunds given to a client following the return of a car before the specified time or date as written in the rental agreement.
Car Condition
Cars should be returned at exactly the same condition they were hired. Special cleaning if required comes with additional charges.
Fuel policy
Vehicles are not hired with full fuel tanks, so clients should return them with fuel the same way it was at the pick up. If vehicle is returned with more fuel than at pick up, expect zero refunds. However clients might request for prepaid full fuel tank during their booking time.
Crossing Border
Crossing from one country to another would be considered bleach of car rental agreement in case you did not apply for car hire for cross-boarder purposes.
Cancellation Policy for Hired Car
The client might get a refund if they cancel their rental according to our cancellation policy.
Our Cancellation policy
If you want to cancel a rental because of your personal reasons, a charge will be levied on you for the cancellation of your booking according to your collection date.
No refunds shall be given to clients for late collections, cancellation made after the rental start date and for rentals ended early.
All cancellations should be made in writing and mailed to carhireuganda21@gmail.com.
Cancellation Fees:
- 30 days or more before start day 30%
- 31-60 days before start day, 50%
- 61-90 days before start day, 75%
- 91+ days before start day, 100%
Charges are based on the total cost of car rental.
